BREWTON, AL - D.W. McMillan Health System announces the opening of the D.W. McMillan After Hours Clinic on October 3, 2016. The Clinic will be located in the hospital outpatient specialty clinic area, just down from the Emergency Department. The Clinic will be staffed by providers, Gray Garrett, CRNP and Mallory Mullis, PA-C on a rotating basis. Dr. Scott Nelson and Dr. Elizabeth Bataglia, D.W. McMillan Emergency Department Physicians, are the Collaborative Physicians for the clinic providers.
"I am so happy to be back in Brewton working in the community that helped shape me into who I am today. I look forward to helping fulfill the medical needs of our local residents," said Mullis. "We are excited and very thankful for everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen."
Garrett is a graduate of The University of Alabama - Capstone College of Nursing and a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham with two Master of Science in Nursing degrees. Garrett's first master degree included a Program Focus of Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and her second master degree included a Program Focus of Family Nurse Practitioner. Mullis is a graduate of Fairfield University with Bachelor in Biological Sciences and The University of South Alabama's Physician Assistant Program with a Master of Heath Science. While at The University of South Alabama, Mullis was inducted into the Alpha Eta Honor Society for Allied Health Professionals.
"We wanted to offer this service in order to provide an option other than the Emergency Room for patients who have after hours non-emergent conditions," said Garrett. "We are hoping the After Hours Clinic will provide a convenient and less costly alternative for patients who are in need of after hours non emergency care."
According to hospital officials, standard office visit co-pays will apply for the Clinic. The D.W. McMillan After Hours Clinic will be open Monday - Friday from 4:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The D.W. "We are very fortunate to have both Gray and Mallory join our healthcare team here at McMillan, they both clearly represent the type of quality healthcare providers we are trying to attract to our community" said Chris Griffin, hospital administrator. "Our After Hours Clinic will open as our local physician offices are ending their clinic day or when our local physician offices are closed. We are hopeful our new service will attract members of our community who might be traveling out of town for their non emergent medical needs during the time their primary local physician's office is closed."
