Brewton AL - Chris Griffin, administrator of D. W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, was recently elected to the Alabama Hospital Association (AlaHA) Board of Trustees to represent hospitals in the southwest part of the state.
"We are looking forward to having Chris serve on our board," said Donald E. Williamson, MD, president of AlaHA. "He has been a valuable leader in a number of association efforts and for two years has chaired a task force working to ensure access to health care in rural areas of the state."
Mr. Griffin began his career at D.W. McMillan as its chief financial officer in 2003 and was promoted to administrator in 2008. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Weyerhaeuser, Bell South Business Systems and Price Waterhouse. Mr. Griffin has served as chairman of the Southwest Hospital Council of the Alabama Hospital Association, the Association's Rural Constituency Section and most recently its Rural Task Force. He currently chairs the Southern Alabama Area Health Education Center and serves on the board of the Gulf Coast Regional Care Organization. Mr. Griffin is a member of the Brewton Rotary Club and a previous board member of the Brewton Chamber of Commerce.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that assists member hospitals in effectively serving the health care needs of Alabama, through advocacy, representation, education and service.
