OR (Surgery) Manager
Full-time Position
Duties/skills:
- Responsible for total management and supervision of the OR (Surgical), PACU (Recovery) and Sterile Processing units on a 24 hour basis.
- Assists in the evaluation of nursing service policies and procedures and recommends changes as indicated.
- Interprets Hospital, OR, PACU, and Sterile Processing policies and procedures to personnel.
- Establishes, implements and evaluates goals, objectives, standards of care, and practice of the above units.
- Actively participates in committee activities as required.
- Responsible for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, discipline and evaluation, and scheduling of the OR, PACU, and Sterile Processing staff.
- Responsible for continuous performance improvement and the delivery of quality patient care.
- Develops and administers capital equipment requests.
- Responsible for monitoring annual budget.
- Addresses HR and employee management issues.
Qualifications:
- RN degree with current Alabama license, BSN preferred.
- ACLS and BLS certification required.
- Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) years OR experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.
- Must work independently as the leader of a complex interdisciplinary team.
